Jostens has an ever growing and changing creative process. In the early stages of the company, they had artists drawing the posters with colored pencils to show customers what their custom ring design requests would look like. This has developed into an extensive workflow that includes Corel draw, Rhino, and an online SharePoint database file management system to create a reference for every project. I was learning 3D products in Rhino for a point of sale customer proposal when we got laid off due to COVID-19 in March. We started creating collaborative standards that honored the consistency of our presentation work and increased production with new workflows that we set as a team.

These are a couple examples of a finished Rhino Render on a poster to present to the customer for approval.

In order to accomplish the needs of the customer, they would provide a drawing or a photo. We would complete a drawing of the mask as close to the original photo as possible. The challenge would be to maintain the Machine 3d Printing guidelines and understand what the machines could create, and what was possible. This required a lot of training, and a lot of trial and error and asking questions to understand each unique circumstance!

After everything was approved with this below Mask drawing, we would then create a render and present what the 3d version of the ring would look like to the customer for approval. This is what you see above!
